1102 Guardianship Assistance Clinic
October 14 @ 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm
Do you have a family member or loved one over 18 who may need a guardian? SALSA’s 1102 Guardianship Assistance Clinic helps families take the first step. Under Chapter 1102 of the Texas Estates Code, a concerned party can submit an information letter asking the Court to look into whether an adult needs guardianship. The Court then appoints an attorney to investigate, and for qualifying low-income families, court and attorney fees are covered through Bexar County.
At the clinic, each client is paired with a volunteer attorney and law student to complete and finalize their 1102 submission packet.
Please note: This clinic is by referral only for MAC members. To participate, clients must first complete an 1102 pre-qualification checklist with an attorney at one of SALSA’s weekly Tuesday walk-in clinics at Morgan’s MAC.
