1102 Guardianship Clinic

The 1102 Guardianship Assistance Clinic takes advantage of Chapter 1102 of the Texas Estates Code. This section indicates that when there is a concern regarding an individual over 18 potentially needing guardianship the concerned party can submit an 1102 information letter to the Court.

At the clinic you will be matched with a law student and your client to complete the client’s 1102 submission packet. In order to qualify for this clinic, clients are pre-vetted and have completed an 1102 pre-qualification checklist with an attorney during one of our weekly Wednesday walk-in clinics at Morgan’s MAC. We ask that you bring your laptop with you to the clinic and use the forms provided on our resource page for your client’s 1102 submission packet. You are welcome to utilize the law student’s help as much as you feel comfortable, either to draft, provide language interpretation services, or anything else that may help with your client.
