Dear Partners and Volunteers,
As we enter a new chapter following the departure of our Board President and Executive Director, I want to take a moment to acknowledge their leadership and the impact they’ve had on our efforts to provide life-changing legal services to low-income clients.
That work continues. SALSA’s mission, values, and focus on access to justice remain steadfast. I stepped into the interim role of Executive Director because I believe in our staff and in the work that brought each of us to this organization.
We understand that recent transitions and financial uncertainty may raise questions. But I ask that you remain engaged with SALSA—because the need for legal services in our community has not diminished. As federally funded organizations face ongoing grant uncertainties, there is no substitute for pro bono legal support.
We are focused on stabilizing SALSA and building toward long-term sustainability, and we can only do that with your continued energy and investment—whether as a volunteer, a donor, or a future member of our Board.
For your reference, I’ve included the SALSA Board of Directors’ statement on our recent fiscal challenges and our initial response.
If you have any questions, I invite you to contact me at robertm@sa-lsa.org. I’d be glad to connect and hear your ideas or concerns.
Sincerely,
Robert Mihara
