San Antonio legal and civic community leaders come together at the San Antonio Bar Foundation’s annual gala to commemorate professional and philanthropic success in the legal community. This year’s gala, French Quarter Fete, will take place this Saturday, September 24th, at the University of the Incarnate Word’s Rosenberg Sky Room. The evening is filled with dinner, entertainment, and the presentation of legal community awards.
We are proud to announce that SALSA Pro Bono Coordinator, Tashawna Taylor-Hall, will be recognized for earning the 2022 SAYLA Liberty Bell Award. This award honors an outstanding non-lawyer for her excellent community service which strengthens the effectiveness of the American Justice system by instilling better understanding and appreciation of the law. We are looking forward to celebrating Tashawna’s service to our San Antonio community, particularly her work with low-income veterans to help make the legal system more accessible. Some of the past recipients of the SAYLA Liberty Bell award include Lila Cockrell, Maricruz Mosqueda, and Chief William McManus.
We are also excited to announce that SALSA will receive the proceeds from the Gala’s Silent Auction. Some of the items up for bid include a dinner party with Sister Grace and Dean Patricia Roberts from St. Mary’s University Law School, a Spurs game package and vacation getaways on the Texas Gulf Coast.
We look forward to seeing everyone on Saturday!
