Samantha Serna Uribe

Samantha serves as a Senior Staff Attorney with SALSA’s Housing and Estates teams. She began her legal career as a legal aid attorney with Texas RioGrande Legal Aid (TRLA) along the Texas-Mexico border. While at TRLA, Samantha managed a diverse caseload, primarily complex family law cases involving domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking. She went on to serve as a Staff Attorney at the Mexican American Legal Defense & Educational Fund (MALDEF), where she conducted civil rights litigation and policy initiatives, focusing on immigrants’ rights, employment, education, and voting rights.

Samantha has a Juris Doctor from American University Washington College of Law, where she served as the President of the Moot Court Honor Society and contributing Member of the Labor & Employment Law Forum publication. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Houston and was selected for the Latino Leadership Initiative at Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government.
