TODD Clinic

FreeAt SALSA’s TODD Clinic, volunteer attorneys, with the help of volunteer law students, assist low-income homeowners in protecting their homes and securing generational stability by preparing Transfer on Death Deeds (TODDs). This legal document allows a home to pass to a designated beneficiary without the need for probate.
Volunteer Responsibilities:
- Meet with pre-screened clients during scheduled appointments
- Review basic property and ownership information
- Draft a Transfer on Death Deed for eligible clients
Impact:
- For many clients, a TODD is the only way they can legally transfer their home to a loved one
- A few hours of your time can prevent a family from losing their home or facing expensive probate proceedings
