The MAC Legal Advice Office Hours – SSI/SSDI & Guardianships

***This registration is for volunteer attorneys only.  If you are seeking services, please note that the clinic is a walk-in clinic for MAC members on a first come, first served basis.*** 

 SALSA has partnered with The Multi-Assistance Center at Morgan’s Wonderland (The MAC) to hold the The MAC’s Legal Advice Office Hours Clinic.  This is a great opportunity to assist people and their families with special needs.  Volunteer attorneys at SALSA’s Legal Advice Office Hours Clinic at The MAC will meet with the client and provide legal advice about common issues relating to SSI/SSDI, Public Benefits, and Guardianships.  

 The clinic is located at The Multi-Assistance Center at Morgan’s Wonderland (The MAC) at 5210 Thousand Oaks Drive, San Antonio, Texas 78233.  Parking is free and located across the street, behind the stadium.  If you need accessible parking, you can park in the lot closest to The MAC. 

 If you would prefer to volunteer remotely, please indicate so on the submission form.  Remote volunteers will be on call and will be provided with a Zoom link the morning of the clinic.  Volunteers will then be contacted when a client is ready to meet with them. 

 Volunteer law students from St. Mary’s University may assist with the intake application.  The volunteer will then be paired with a law student and a client to discuss the relevant issues.  The volunteer attorney will meet with the client only during the prescribed clinic hours.  If the client’s situation requires a more complex method to resolve the issue(s), SALSA staff will assist with providing the client referral information for additional resources after the volunteer’s assistance has concluded at The MAC Clinic. 

 Once volunteer attorneys register with this clinic, you will be sent a confirmation e-mail including a link to SALSA’s The MAC Clinic Resource Page, which contains clinic information and some helpful resources.
