Join SALSA and My City My Home for a Tenant Repair Workshop designed to help tenants in Northwest San Antonio navigate their rights under the Texas Property Code. As a legal volunteer, you will play a critical role in empowering tenants to protect their housing by providing hands-on assistance in drafting repair request letters and answering housing-related legal questions.

Volunteer Responsibilities:

• Assist tenants in completing repair request letters to landlords
• Provide basic legal guidance on tenant rights under the Texas Property Code
• Ensure attendees understand how to follow up on their repair requests
• Identify tenants who may need extended legal support or referrals
• Work alongside staff attorneys and community advocates to support housing stability

Who Can Volunteer:

• Licensed attorneys with an interest in housing law or tenant advocacy
• Law students looking for hands-on pro bono experience
• Spanish-speaking attorneys and law students are especially needed

Additional Notes:

• Volunteers will receive on-site guidance from SALSA staff attorneys.
• Tenants will be asked to bring a copy of their lease to ensure they receive the best assistance.
• This is a limited-scope pro bono opportunity—volunteers will assist tenants with repair request letters only, with no ongoing representation required.
