The daughter of a deceased Veteran is seeking representation to challenge a special warranty deed. The Veteran was in the later stages of his life and in deep financial distress due to delayed financial benefits. His home was in the beginning stages of foreclosure when a man came to the Veteran’s home, offering to help stave off foreclosure. Hearing, sight, and cognitively impaired, the Veteran thought he was refinancing the home he lived in for over 25 years. However, he sold his house to a party misrepresenting the terms associated with the sale. After the sale, the Veteran received his back-dated monetary benefits and fully paid his original mortgage. He and his dependents continued to reside in the home and pay expenses related to the home. The surviving dependents of Veteran hope to find representation to establish their interest in the property.
